چکیده

We present and discuss various formalizations of Modal Logics in Logical Frameworks based on Type Theories. We consider both Hilbertand Natural Deduction-style proof systems for representing both truth (local) and validity (global) consequence relations for various Modal Logics. We introduce several techniques for encoding the structural peculiarities of necessitation rules, in the typed λ-calculus metalanguage of the Logical Frameworks. These formalizations yield readily proof-editors for Modal Logics when implemented in Proof Development Environments, such as Coq or LEGO.

A Note on Logics of Ability

This short note will discuss logical frameworks for reasoning about an agent’s ability. We will sketch details of logics of ‘can’, ‘do’, and ‘intention’. This note is not meant to be a complete survey of the relevant literature, but rather a starting point for an investigation in logics that can express what actions agents can perform and what state of affairs they can bring about. We assume fa...

A Framework for Defining Logical Frameworks

In this paper, we introduce a General Logical Framework, called GLF, for defining Logical Frameworks, based on dependent types, in the style of the well known Edinburgh Logical Framework LF. The framework GLF features a generalized form of lambda abstraction where β-reductions fire provided the argument satisfies a logical predicate and may produce an n-ary substitution. The type system keeps t...

Practical Proof Methods for Combined Modal and Temporal Logics

For a number of years, temporal and modal logics have been applied outside pure logic in areas such as formal methods, theoretical computer science and artiicial intelligence. In our research we are particularly interested in the use of modal logics in the characterisation of complex components within software systems as intelligent or rational agents. This approach allows the system designer t...

The Method of Hypersequents in the Proof Theory of Propositional Non-classical Logics

Until not too many years ago, all logics except classical logic (and, perhaps, intuitionis-tic logic too) were considered to be things esoteric. Today this state of aaairs seems to have completely been changed. There is a growing interest in many types of nonclassical logics: modal and temporal logics, substructural logics, paraconsistent logics, non-monotonic logics { the list is long. The div...
